Back on the BFA blogroll & AP interview with Dean

I was just going over the stats here on the site and saw someone had come over and checked us out via a link from Blog for America. Curious, I headed over to take a look and, lo and behold, we were back on their blogroll (over on the right side of the page, as Democracy for Idaho). That's just too cool for words — thanks, folks!

I had read via DailyKos earlier today that there was an interview with Governor Dean that the AP had recently conducted, but couldn't find it. It's now up on BFA, and you can read it by clicking here. Be sure to give it a read.

Back on BFA — kinda like being back home after being away for awhile. Gives me the warm fuzzies, y'know?

Convention Program Booklets — hot off the printer!

I've got the new booklet here, and it looks sharp. Over the next few days, I'll post some info from it here on the site.

Just a quick glance — looks like Bingham County is hosting a Dutch Oven Picnic on Thursday the 17th. It's at the Fort Hall Replica at Upper Ross Park, and goes from 6:30 to 11:00 PM. Mmmm, I luvs that dutch oven cooking!

More to come...

Don't be schtupid, be a schmarty, come and join the Dubya Party!

Celebrated author Father Andrew Greeley in today's Chicago Sun-Times:

(Bush) is not another Hitler. Yet there is a certain parallelism. They have in common a demagogic appeal to the worst side of a country's heritage in a crisis. Bush is doubtless sincere in his vision of what is best for America. So too was Hitler. The crew around the president -- Donald Rumsfeld, John Ashcroft, Karl Rove, the ''neo-cons'' like Paul Wolfowitz -- are not as crazy perhaps as Himmler and Goering and Goebbels. Yet like them, they are practitioners of the Big Lie -- weapons of mass destruction, Iraq democracy, only a few "bad apples."

Talk about damning with faint praise...

Dubya truly in Dutch?

Billmon over at the Whiskey Bar says Bush and his minions aren't getting the bounce out of Reagan's death that they'd hoped for. He thinks it has something to do with carnations and manure.

Convention shirts are in!

The new T-shirts for the convention came in this morning, and they look terrific! I won’t, at this time, run a photo of them — I don’t know if the powers-that-be want to show them off now, or wait to unveil them at the event.

And no, I don’t know how much they’re going to sell for. But I want one!

One sunny day in 2005...

One sunny day in 2005 an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he'd been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said, "I would like to go in and meet with President Bush."

The Marine looked at the man and said, "Sir, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here."

The old man said, "Okay" and walked away.

The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, "I would like to go in and meet with President Bush."

The Marine again told the man, "Sir, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here." The man thanked him and, again, just walked away.

The third day, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same U. S. Marine, saying "I would like to go in and meet with President Bush."

The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, "Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Bush. I've told you already that Mr. Bush is no longer the president and no longer resides here. Don't you understand?"

The old man looked at the Marine and said, "Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it."

The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, "See you tomorrow."
